I get a much closer shave without a guard than I can with a trimmer, and I don't have to use any shaving cream. It also works as a trimmer very well with the included adjustable length guard. The small blade shape makes it easy to maneuver especially when you're trying to create clean lines around the jaw line. The included pouch stores everything neatly and it's all very compact so it's easy to travel with. It charged very quickly (~1 hour) and has lasted through a few uses so far without need to recharge.
